The pixelfont Al Abdali
8 was
created during my stay with Syntax in
Amman/Jordan to match the growing need for bilingual arabic/latin typefaces
to work together hand in hand. I also chose to work on a pixelfont
because it was an easy starting point for me to get into the arabic writing
system
without
having detailed knowledge
about arabic calligraphy.
It was designed for 8pt size for on-screen purposes, for websites
or Flash animations. It matches perfectly with the latin pixelfont
Unibody
8 from
the dutch type foundry Underware
that is also available for free download there.
Note:
Although it seems to work perfectly in all design applications on both
Mac and Windows, rendering issues and crashes have been reported with Office
for Windows. I hope to
resolve these problems soon. |
